About MYTIME
MYTIME began life as a 20-minute live dramatization of recovery from alcoholism. This award-winning play was written as the final project for the College-Conservatory of Music Master’s Degree of Fine Art acting program. Following the award of Best Play at the Festival of New Works MYTIME was produced and performed in three National Tours throughout the United States.

As MYTIME begins a single light revealing a room in disarray illuminates the stage. A mattress on the floor serves as a bed; clothes are strewn around as is the evidence of a life in turmoil. A boy, marooned on the bed, begins his story - a story in which all that have been in the grasp of alcoholism can see themselves. The audience accompanies the boy through his journey toward recovery. In dramatizing one boy's recovery, audiences identify their own or their loved one's condition.

But MYTIME does not end with the final curtain. Author/Actor Jonathan Phillips returns to the stage to lead a dialogue that breaks down the barriers between audience and actor. This provides the opportunity to build therapeutic bridges that may not have been possible prior to sharing MYTIME.
